I am a true coffee connoisseur who loves to pamper my palate, and this little machine brews coffee that is miles ahead of any capsule machine. I cannot confirm whether it actually reaches the advertised pressure of 15 bars. However, the coffee still tastes slightly better than that from my large machine, which cost many times as much. Furthermore, the coffee comes out piping hot—an absolute delight for me. Anyone who thought this coffee machine could brew hot coffee without a power connection is mistaken—because I thought so, too! Of course, you can prepare cold brew or pour boiling water directly into the water tank—a nice little extra. Otherwise, however, the device does need to be plugged into a power outlet. Yet, for those who have a kettle handy or carry a thermos of hot water with them, it is perfectly portable. And when plugged in, it works flawlessly regardless. The small water tank heats the liquid somewhat slowly with its 400-watt heating element; it takes about four to five minutes to heat 180 ml. However, the three adjustable temperature settings are a truly well-thought-out feature. The build quality is excellent: the stainless steel components are placed exactly where they are needed, and the plastic is extremely robust and durable. You don't have to worry about anything becoming brittle or breaking. The rubber seals also appear to be very durable. And the clever design is another plus point; it is simply very appealing. The included accessories are also of very high quality, leaving absolutely no room for complaint. While the water tank is admittedly quite small—holding just enough for a single cup—given the impressive technology packed into such a compact device, I do not view this as a drawback. Verdict: A very well-built little machine that can be placed practically anywhere. Anyone who loves freshly brewed coffee will be delighted with this machine. What it manages to produce from such a compact unit surpasses any capsule machine and is even better than what larger models offer. The ability to prepare cold brew is a nice extra, even if it isn't strictly essential. Would I recommend it? Yes—and with full conviction! It is perfect for anyone who truly loves good coffee, whether in the garage, at the office, or even while traveling. Important note: The machine requires a power source to brew hot coffee on its own.

Great little machine for our campervan trips. We usually struggle with decent coffee on the road, but this actually gives a proper espresso with crema — much better than instant or pods. I like that I can plug it in on-site, then use it cordless when we’re off-grid. The magnetic cover is a nice touch too, keeps everything clean in a drawer with other bits.

Only reason for 4 stars is that you need to plan your water and charging a bit, especially on longer trips. Still, for a compact setup in a van, it’s a solid upgrade and makes mornings on the road much more enjoyable. ☕🚐

This CIARRA Mini Espresso Machine looks great and feels well-made. It comes with a wooden tamper, a metal cup, and a magnetic drip tray, and the setup is simple.

The problem? On battery power, it cannot heat water—you need to plug it in. It takes about 4 minutes to reach brewing temperature, producing coffee around 79°C. I got this as I'm on a road trip, and I thought I could have a brew anytime I want. Using hot water from a thermos is possible, but awkward.

If you’re near a power outlet, it works reliably and makes good espresso.

This is a really cute coffee maker that makes decent espresso on the go. No you’re not going to get delonghi quality coffee out of a ~130 portable coffee machine that weights 6 pounds but the point is to use it on the go and this product delivers really well for price and portability.
With respect to the hot coffee functionality I think you’ll be pleased with this if you temper your expectations. It’s good for a portable coffee maker but if you’re used to using a high quality super automatic machine it’s clearly not going to stack up. Even if you’re using a French press while camping you’re looking in wrong place. For us it’s great to use on the go and still get our espresso fix. I don’t have to wait long to get my drink, it tastes good enough to meet my needs in the morning. It’s also nice that we can use the included cup where the espresso pours in as a vessel with our portable milk frother if we’re feeling extra fancy on the road.
