I was a little sceptical on buying this as all similar ones were a few hundred pounds more. My electrician installed it and all I can say is it worked perfectly with the carbon filters. No more smoke filled room when cooking steak, and no smell as the filters work. Wife very happy.
Ease of fitting and instructions very clear. Functional but buttons very sensitive. Pressing 1 to switch off, could result in switching back on. Not a game changer considering design and price. Lovely design.Mixed feelings but can live with it.
I installed another Ciarra Extractor Hood in another property and was well impressed with it. I chose this model over the previous one due to it's better extraction rate, looks and more energy efficient running. My electrician said he needed to instal a socket since the unit does not wire in directly but through a plug. Cutting off the plug could void the warranty. The unit has a wide range of extraction from 1 through 3 to boost and is pretty quiet throughout the range. The lighting is very good with two levels of illumination. Consideration should be given to running cost and energy efficiency when paying more for this model, not just for looks alone. Recommended.
Suction power could be better at the highest setting in recirculation mode!
