I spent weeks comparing 90cm cooker hoods in this price range (around £400), and my main concerns were noise level, real extraction power, and whether the angled design would actually be practical in everyday cooking. After installing this Ciarra hood, I can confidently say it ticks all the boxes.
First of all, the 650m³/h extraction is genuinely effective. We cook a lot of strong-smelling dishes (fried fish, garlic-heavy meals), and this clears the air much faster than our old 60cm unit. Even on level 2 or 3 it's already doing a solid job — the booster mode is great when things get smoky quickly.
What really surprised me is how quiet it is for the power. That was a big worry before buying, but it's noticeably less intrusive than expected, especially compared to cheaper models.
The angled glass design is a game changer — no more bumping your head while cooking, which was a daily annoyance with our previous flat hood. Also, the brushed silver glass finish looks very high-end in person, not cheap or plasticky at all, and it’s incredibly easy to wipe clean (important if you cook often like we do).
We installed it in recirculating mode (no external duct), and with the carbon filter included, it worked straight out of the box — ideal for UK homes where venting outside isn't always straightforward.
Touch controls are responsive, lighting is bright enough for evening cooking, and the adjustable chimney helped it fit neatly into our kitchen layout.
Overall, if you're hesitating because of the price, I’d say this is one of those cases where paying a bit more genuinely gives you better daily usability and comfort. Feels like a proper upgrade rather than just a replacement.
