CIARRA Portable Induction Hob 13 Amp Plug 2800W Double Hotplate with Touch Control CUTIH2-OW

I bought this Ciarra double induction hob to replace an old electric stove in our studio apartment, and it has been a game-changer. The biggest selling point for me was the 13A UK plug – literally took it out of the box, plugged it into the standard socket, and started cooking immediately. No expensive electrician or hardwiring required!

The 'Ultra-Slim' description isn't an exaggeration; it’s incredibly sleek (about 45mm) and looks very modern on our granite worktop. I was worried it might be underpowered, but it boils water faster than our old kettle using the higher power levels. The temperature control is very precise—perfect for simmering delicate sauces without burning them.

Safety was another priority since we have a curious toddler. The child lock works perfectly, and the pan detection is a great peace of mind—it won't heat up unless a compatible pan is actually on the surface. Cleanup is a breeze too; a quick wipe with a damp cloth and the glass is spotless again. Highly recommended for anyone in a caravan, flat, or just needing extra burners for Sunday roasts!

It’s fine, but it’s constantly overheating with larger pots and pans and shutting off til it cools. It’s also pretty unstable at maintaining heat at times, but it’s fine for basic stuff.

The hotplate worked well. The noise it produces is not bothersome—though I do use it on the balcony or in the garden. The hotplate features a continuous glass surface, ensuring that no trim or similar components can come loose. The fan has a relatively large diameter, which keeps the noise levels quite reasonable.

This portable induction hob works brilliantly and heats up very quickly. The two cooking zones are really handy, especially when cooking more than one thing at once. I like the touch controls — they’re responsive and easy to use, and the ceramic surface looks sleek and is easy to clean. It feels solid and powerful, making it great for everyday cooking or as an extra hob. Very happy with the performance!

For the price this is a great quality hob. Its thinner than others available and heats pans up very quick. I have this in my campervan and although its a very large size, its safe to use with pans and easy to control with either wattage or temperature.
I only have a 2400w inverter when this pulls up to 2800, but the higher levels modulate their power use, so 2 pans can work well together without pulling the full power, below 1000w each the hob turns on and off to maintain temperature, so it doesnt pull a constant low wattage like built in hobs.
There are built in fans with a low level of background noise, but not an issue for cooking.
Easy to clean top and overall great value for money.
